Founded in 1965, The Tisch School of Arts is one of 15 schools that make up New York University (NYU). The world-renowned Tisch School of Arts is one of the top-ranked universities for Film/Theater/Dance in the world. Tisch is a training ground for artists, scholars of the arts, and creative entrepreneurs. The school merges the technical training of a professional school with the academic resources of a major research university to immerse students in their intended artistic disciplines.
The school has educated numerous Hollywood icons within the media arts - in acting, directing, writing, and filming. Alumni have won Oscars, Emmys and Tony awards. As a result of its acclaimed reputation, the school attracts the brightest students and faculty. Past alumni include: Billy Crystal, Spike Lee, Martin Scorsese, Vince Gilligan, and M. Night Shyamalan.
The Tisch School of the Arts at NYU had a website that provided a 14 year old site experience. The content was dated and did not represent Tisch properly. The site architecture was archaic from a technical perspective and it was time for an overhaul.
The new site experience was designed by Blue State Digital and implemented in AEM 6.0 by Content Thread. The site featured Single Sign-On (SSO) Integration using SAML for students to be able to authenticate and then receive a personalized experience that also allowed for User Generated Content (UGC) to be created. The UGC included event creation along with custom gallery submission and search integration with Google Search Appliance.
